Answers
Q1. What is Ayurveda?
A1. Ayurveda is made up of two words – Ayur and Veda. Ayur means life and Veda means knowledge of science. Thus “Ayurveda” in totality means “Science of life”. It incorporates all aspects of life physical, psychological, spiritual and social. It differs from conventional medicine in the basic principles of investigations and assigning causes to processes rather then specific areas of physiology.

Q2. Is it advisable to take any other medicine while under Ayurvedic treatment?
A2. There is no harm in taking other medicines along with the Ayurvedic medicines. As there is no drug-interaction between Ayurvedic medicines and medicines of other systems, so they can be taken according to the need or as directed by the physician.

Q3. Why should I go for Ayurveda instead of other system of medicine?
A3. In other system of medicines they treat the disease only, but in Ayurvedic system of medicine being a holistic approach to mankind, it not only treats the disease but treats the patients mentally as well as physically. It is a natural therapy hence it has no side effect or any complications, whereas other system of medicine has lots of side effects and several complications.

Q4. What is Panchkarma therapy?
A4. Panchakarma is Ayurveda's primary purification and detoxification treatment. Panchakarma means the "five therapies". These 5 therapeutic means of eliminating toxins from the body are Vamana, Virechana, Nasya, Basti and Raktamoskshana.
